WHERE’S THE JUSTICE?
In our world, people individually and collectively may be asking, “Where is the justice?’’ The truth is that some circumstances are very much out of our control, but they are never out of God’s control. God is completely trustworthy, faithful and just. He is sovereign and He is the ruler of this world.
I heard a great sermon today from Luke 18:1-8. Jesus told a parable so that we will always pray and not give up. (Verse 1) “Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them they should always pray and not give up.” We should pray persistently and with faith regarding needs and concerns. We can trust God and His righteousness. He told a parable about a judge who did not fear God or care about people.
Yet because a woman persisted in going to that judge asking for justice from her adversary, he finally responded and gave her justice. Then Jesus said, if an unjust judge was willing to do that, then how much more will God who is holy and just give justice to His followers who cry out to Him? Jesus said, “I tell you He will see that they get justice.”(Verse 8)
Then Jesus asked a powerful question. (Verse 8) “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?” God has promised that Jesus Christ will be coming a second time to this earth. The second time will not be as a little baby, but as the King. Till then He wants us to remain faithful in our beliefs and continuing to trust Him.
This includes remaining faithful even when we don’t see Him answering our prayers. Never give up. God is working in ways we cannot see. He cares about right and wrong, and He will bring justice. We can absolutely trust in Him. Remain faithful that He will act with justice. God loves us and cares about justice for us. Jesus Christ brings justice to the world.
We should pray for God’s justice in this world and in our lives. We should also live justly and righteously. We can show that we have faith in God by living our own lives with faithfulness and trustworthiness, in our marriages and in all our relationships.
