PEACE AND HOPE DURING THE PANDEMIC
Today is Palm Sunday. This was the special Sunday before Resurrection Sunday, Easter Sunday. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey colt. Everyone greeted Him with palm branches as they shouted “Hosanna” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”.
Then later that week Jesus suffered indescribably and was crucified to pay for the sins of the world. Three days later Jesus rose from the dead and He lives today as the Savior for the world. Everyone who believes in Him and accepts Him as their personal Savior will be saved and live forever with Him in Heaven.
We are also right in the middle of the COVID- 19 time in our world. A time of uncertainty and concern similar to the last week before the Resurrection Sunday. Jesus brought hope to the world. He gives peace to all who Know Him personally. Our world needs hope and peace today as well.
Jesus gives peace. He offers peace that He said is not like the peace the world gives, but only as He gives. He also said that He wants us to know His peace. Even though we will have troubles in this world, He has overcome the world
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Wherever you are and whatever you are experiencing now, please be assured that God knows. He loves you and He is there for you. Just call out to Him. He will give you peace that is bigger, stronger and more profound than anything this world gives. He gives the peace of knowing Him.
John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
